Erbaviva Coral Safe Sunscreen

An alarming fact is coming to light – some of the sunscreen that swimmers put on their bodies to prevent burns is killing the world’s precious coral reefs!

A recent study by the journal Environmental Health Perspectives found that four common ingredients in sunscreen, (paraben, cinnamate, benzophenone, and a camphor derivative) are actually killing coral reefs worldwide. Researchers estimate that 4,000 to 6,000 metric tons of sunscreen wash off swimmers annually in oceans worldwide, and that up to 10 percent of coral reefs are threatened by sunscreen-induced bleaching.
